Salzburg University of Applied Sciences invites you to submit your project proposals for VR and AR projects for the first Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Challenge that will be held at Salzburg University of Applied Sciences in Puch/Salzburg (Austria) on 5 October 2017.
The VR/AR Challenge is responding to the recent explosion of commercial and research activities related to VR and AR by continuing the successful VR Salzburg Summit 2016.
The VR/AR Challenge is looking for challenging VR/AR ideas, applications, demos or running betas in the fields of Entertainment, Health, Tourism and Mobility. An international Jury will select a winner from each category. The winners will be invited to present their idea at the VR Summit Salzburg 2017.
Submissions can be handed in from now until 31 July 2017.
You are invited to submit your project proposal and link to your demos, apps or running betas via our award registration form.
Please submit your project proposal according to the following structure:
The document should not exceed 8 pages (excluding appendices).
Please assign your idea to one of the following categories:
Entertainment: We are looking for ideas, solutions and applications in the fields of Gaming, Immersive Drama and future formats.
Health: We are looking for ideas, soultions and applications for enhancing personal fitness and well being, mental training, prevention of dementia and ritalin supplant and others.
Tourism: We are looking for ideas, solutions and applications to enhance customer experience and business processes in a tourism environment.
Mobility: We are looking for ideas, soultions and applications for training for drivers competence, augemented traffic security, virtual presence as a replacement for travel, business opportunities in mobility systems and drone flightbased security scenarios.
All submissions describing research experiments with human participants should follow the appropriate ethical guidelines and authors are encouraged to secure and report their preapproval by the relevant ethics commission. An approval by any institutional review board can be indicated via the submission system. This is not a mandatory requirement at this time, but with the current dissemination of VR and AR technology, our community should be aware of this responsibility.
